Kiki Taira is a Japanese artist currently based in London, UK. She focuses on creating parallel dialogues between the body and selected objects. Her work looks into the complex dialogues which exist as actions and events intertwine and untwine on different level, tracing the transformation of objects through physical exercises and relate these relationships to her own life experiences of transitional change.
Taira is a co-founder of ArtEvict, an open platform for both emerging and established artists working with performance art. Since its inception at the end of 2009 ArtEvict has made contact with, and facilitated the exhibition of, many artists and their work.
Currently, she is both a board member and an associate artist of ]performance s p a c e[, a new creative initiative to support and develop performance art in and around London.
